Columbia’s Bards
The bards are a group of singers and musicians who lead chants and perform songs during the 8 high holy day rituals. Practices are held on the last weekend of every month, and in addition to rehearsing regular songs, the practices also include lessons on music theory, vocal lessons, and efforts on writing new songs for future rituals.

The bards are led by Beth, who sang in choir as a child and has a strong background in instrumental music. Beth played and taught clarinet, taking clarinet lessons for 7 years. She is interested in a variety of instruments including drum and Anglo-Saxon lyre. She reads and arranges music, organizing and expanding the Grove's songbook. She plans to draw on the experience of members and friends of the Grove and help us all grow as a group musically.
